Local residents will have a chance to safely rid themselves of old and expired prescription and over the counter medications next month. Tennessee American Water is teaming up with the Chattanooga Police Department, Drug Enforcement Administration, East Chattanooga Weed & Seed, East Chattanooga Task Force and Ross Pharmacy to provide a drop off point for all unwanted medications. On April 30, 2011 you will be able to drive up to a drop off point at 1502 McCallie Ave and leave old prescriptions, medications and vitamins with local law enforcement. The materials will be properly disposed of and reduce the threat to our water system.
When: April 30 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm
Where: 1502 McCallie Avenue, Chattanooga TN
What to bring: Unwanted and expired medications, prescriptions and over the counter, tablet form, liquids, ointments, inhaler, power or patch form.
Please leave prescriptions in original containers when possible and mark out personal information.
DO NOT BRING: IV Bags, sharps and needles, radioactive medications.
