The Urban Design Challenge hosted by the River City Company presents the second design team on Thursday November 10, 2011 at the IMAX Theater, downtown Chattanooga at 5:30 pm. The Urban Design Challenge provides local urban designers with a chance to provide concept designs for several locations in Chattanooga. Each team will present their designs in a public forum to showcase their talent and provide the community with insightful ideas. Thursday November 10th at the IMAX Theater the team presenting their concept will be the Big Gig. This team was challenged with the Civic Forum Block located between EPB and TVA, across from the downtown library. The challenges for this team included an entire block in an area that is mostly active during working hours. The multi-discipline team brought together architects, urban and landscape designers, contractors, a glass artist and a graphic designer to develop the downtown space with an eye toward the 21st century Chattanooga. The event on November 10th is free and open to the public and will present the team’s concept design for the Civic Forum Block.
