Rethinking Soup

REPORTING:  RABBIT ZIELKE

In the late 1800’s a woman named Jane Addams began bringing together diverse people in a Chicago area to found the first settlement house in America.  As a pre-cursor to the welfare system, the Hull House empowered women and minorities to improve their lives through education and social reform.

The Social Work Program at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga is teaming up with CHANGER to host Rethinking Soup. This monthly event will be free and open to everyone in the community.  Open dialog over a shared meal is the concept behind Rethinking Soup.

Rethinking Soup will be held the third Wednesday of every month at the St. Andrews Center.  The topic for February is Food and Insecurity.
