Hot Rod Magazine’s Power Tour & the Austin Hatcher Foundation

REPORTING:  RABBIT ZIELKE

The Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer has been named Hot Rod Magazine’s Power Tour charity of the year for 2010.  The Power Tour will bring more than 4,000 hot rods and muscle cars on a tour to several cities.  At each stop muscle car enthusiasts can participate in a Pinewood Derby Race to win prizes and support the Austin Hatcher Foundation and services offered at Hatch’s House of Hope.

Pinewood Derby cars are carved from a block of pine and then painted or decorated.  The cars must meet strict design and weight specifications.    You can purchase your kits locally at Learning Express or online through the foundation.  There are even some special limited edition muscle car skins designed by skinit available specifically for this event.  All proceeds for the car kits and skins will benefit the Austin Hatcher Foundation.

The Power Tour will arrive in Chattanooga on June 9th.  The muscle cars will be on display at Chattanooga State Community College.
