The Urban League of Greater Chattanooga is hosting a summer camp with a focus on STEM or Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. This summer camp is open to middle school students and will combine physical and educational objectives to provide a well-rounded summer camp experience. Students will enjoy filed trips all around downtown Chattanooga and get a chance to go behind the scenes in a variety of high-tech businesses.
The summer camp sessions will offer hands on projects that involve learning math and physics, science and technology, and just plain fun. Students will build paper gliders, balloon powered vehicles, robots, and many other projects. The curriculum is designed to educate and energize students in STEM courses and perhaps even encourage a child to continue to an engineering career.
Summer camp will be held at the Urban League of Greater Chattanooga located at 730 M. L. King Blvd. with activities and field trips planned for all over downtown Chattanooga. Classes will be held Monday through Thursday all though the month of June. For more information or to register, call 723-756-1762.
