Taste of Hamilton Place

REPORTING:  RABBIT ZIELKE

The T.C. Thompson Children’s Hospital Foundation has been working since 1985 to build public awareness and raise funds in support of Chattanooga’s premier Children’s Hospital.  The cancer center at T.C. Thompson Children’s Hospital presents a cheerful and child friendly environment to make it easier for cancer patients that will be visiting the facility many times potentially over the course of several years.  Providing colorful play rooms and therapeutic programs helps make those visits easier and can give the child something fun to look forward to.

Massive strides in oncology have increased the survival potential for pediatric cancer.  The Children’s Oncology Group is working to cure and prevent childhood cancer.  This research group is on the leading edge of cancer protocols that lead to a cure while minimizing the negative impact of the treatment.  As a member of this team, T.C. Thompson Children’s Hospital employs the latest strategies and incorporates advanced testing equipment to ensure children at Chattanooga’s hospital get the same advanced care as other pediatric research hospitals.  Funds raised by the Foundation support the purchase of child specific medical equipment in support of these protocols.

On Saturday, September 12, 2010 the Foundation will be hosting Taste of Hamilton Place from 7:00 to 9:00 pm.  This family friendly event will offer samples from area restaurants as well as musical entertainment on three different stages in the Hamilton Place Mall.  Discount tickets are available in advance online or at the Hamilton Place Mall tourist center on the second floor near Sears.
