Looking Back: Best Stories of 2010

Reporting:  Rabbit Zielke

When I was told I could share some of my 2010 stories to start out the first week of 2011 it took me awhile to decide which stories best represented 2010 and Around and About in Chattanooga.  The first interview I selected was with Chris Clark and the one hundred thousand trees he gave to the people of Tennessee.  This piece originally aired March 11, 2010 while Chris was in the process of delivering the trees all across the state.  This was an ambitious project and an act of generosity that touched my heart.  In honoring his father’s legacy Chris Clark has honored us all.

The City of Chattanooga and Hamilton County ended up planting more than a thousand of those trees right here in our region.  Our future generations will enjoy the shade and beauty brought to our area by the generous gift of one hundred thousands trees made in the spring of 2010.

Kicking off the tree give away at the state Arbor Day celebration in Chattanooga with the first 100 trees to be planted.

Here is the original story.
