World Wide Knit in Public Day is actually more than a week and provides opportunities for fiber lovers to get together to knit, crochet, laugh and share their passion for fiber arts. In Chattanooga Knit in Public events were held on June 11th at the Public Library downtown and at Three Black Sheep Yarn Shop on Signal Mountain. Coolidge Park is the gathering place for a Knit in Public event on June 18th. On June 23rd knitting and baseball will come together for Stitch-n-Pitch for the Lookouts game at AT&T field.
Forums and websites provide knitters and fiber artists with a community to share experience, patterns and encouragements. Ravelry is a free website that brings fiber artists across the globe together. Several local knitters can be found on Ravelry.
