CHATTANOOGA FILM SOCIETY DEBUTS ACCLAIMED FILM SERIES:
THE SOUTHERN CIRCUIT TOUR OF INDEPENDENT FILMMAKERS
Chattanooga Joins Circuit as Participating Host of Prestigious Film Series
The Chattanooga Film Society is a non-profit organization working to celebrate film and encourage filmmaking in Chattanooga and the surrounding area.
The Chattanooga Film Society was formed as the result a public visioning process begun in November 2009. The organization supports independent filmmaking locally, promotes professional film and television production across the region, coordinates local film education efforts, and is currently working on the launch of a major professional film festival in Chattanooga.
Southern Circuit provides communities across the South with a tour of highly talented independent filmmakers. Southern Circuit is the nation’s only regional tour of independent filmmakers, providing communities with an interactive way of experiencing independent film. The tour takes the audience away from their televisions, DVD players, and computers to connect them with independent filmmakers and encourage them to talk with one another about the films and their meanings. Southern Circuit transforms watching independent films from a solitary experience into a communal one.
The Film Series Tour opens with Concrete, Steel and Paint on September 12th, 2011 at Loose Cannon Gallery.
