Museum Center at 5ive Points to Host Sixth Annual Pumpkin Carving Contest

CLEVELAND, TN: The Museum Center at 5ive Points is hosting its sixth annual Pumpkin Carving Contest. This judged contest is sponsored each year by Guthrie Pumpkin Farm and Corn Maze. Those wishing to enter the contest should have their carved pumpkins to the Museum by Sunday, October 30 between 2:00 -4:00 p.m. or Monday, October 31 between 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. New this year will be the awarding of prizes in the following categories: Adult Division, Youth Division (5-16), and Professional/Artist Division. Three prizes will be awarded in each division and winners will receive $50, $25, and a Family Membership for first, second, and third place.

Prizes will be awarded Monday, October 30 at 4:00. The pumpkins must remain on display at the Museum during the Annual Tall Betsy Storytelling Night on Monday October 31st from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Admission is free for this evening of family-friendly Halloween stories, children’s crafts, treats, and visits from Tall Betsy.

The Museum Center at 5ive Points preserves and interprets the history and culture of the Ocoee District of Southeast Tennessee. The museum hosts exhibits and education programs. The Museum’s gift shop sells Appalachian arts and crafts from the region. Hours are Tuesday-Friday, 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Saturday 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. The museum is closed Sunday, Monday & holidays. Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and students, and free for children under 5. The museum is free the first Saturday of each month. Groups of 12 or more are $4 each.
