Peregrine falcon Bonny with Dale Kernahan

Save Our American Raptors or S.O.A.R. is a nonprofit organization that cares for injured birds of prey.  They also work to educate people about these magnificent creatures by offering opportunities to get close to these large predators.  SOAR South in Wildwood Georgia is home to several injured birds of prey and a few peregrine falcons that are part of a breed and release program.  One of the falcons was released earlier this year equipped with a satellite telemetry device that transmits information.  You can follow the progress of this young falcon named Lookout as he follows his instincts and flies the natural migratory paths of his kin.  As of November 7, 2011, the young falcon that was released on Lookout Mountain Tennessee is now flying over the Rio Patuca in Honduras, Central America.
