Nominations for the Supernova Award

The Young Women’s Leadership Academy Foundation is accepting nominations for the Supernova Award scheduled to be awarded at the Odyssey Luncheon in the spring of 2012.  This award recognizes the achievements of women in the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).  The Young Women’s Leadership Academy Foundation was instrumental in the formation of the Chattanooga Girls Leadership Academy, Tennessee’s first single gender charter school and the first public charter school in Hamilton County.  Nominations for the Supernova Award will be accepted until December 16, 2011.

Who is eligible for the Supernova Award?

Local female professionals working in a STEM field for more than 5 years.  The nominee has demonstrated leadership in her field.  She promotes innovation and creative problem solving within her workplace.  The nominee has served as a role model or mentor to others in the community with priority given to those who inspire girls and young women.  She is an ethical leader who motivates others.

Anyone can submit a nomination for the Supernova Award.  Self nominations are encouraged.  You can find guidelines for the nomination process and the nomination form here.
