Dr. Robert Ballard Speaks in Chattanooga

Dr. Robert Ballard has been exploring the ocean since 1959.  His discoveries have led to new scientific theories in geology, biology and chemistry.  He has also uncovered shipwrecks and pieces of history in the waters of the world.  Much of this work has been made possible by new technologies that include use of telepresence to explore the ocean floor.  Exploration and science is shared to young people through the JASON project.  Dr. Ballard will be speaking at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in the Roland Hayes Auditorium on Thursday, February 16th at 11:00 am and also to a sold out crowd at the Tennessee Aquarium  in the evening.
